Long Son Cement Plant was built in Dong Son ward, Bim Son town with 2 synchronous and modern lines (line 1 and line 2 has started to operate since November 2016 and September 2017 respectively). Since going into production, staffs, engineers and workers have made an effort in receiving and mastering production technology, operating the production plant stably, constantly researching to improve product quality, providing the market with tens of millions of tons of products, which is highly appreciated by domestic and foreign customers.

Mr. Vu Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of Long Son Cement Plant, said that in the first months of 2020, due to the impact of COVID – 19 pandemics, the domestic and global cement consumption has decreased. As a result, the production and business of our company have been effected. However, the factory has actively made market forecasts to have appropriate policies in production and business. This has included review and improve techniques to reduce material consumption and product costs to share difficulties with customers … Therefore, the production and business of our enterprise still achieve objectives. Besides, the application of the most advanced and modern cement production technology in the world, constantly researching to market quality products is the most important factor, which decides the development strategy of the business.

In the process of construction, Long Son Cement Company selected equipment lines of well-known brands in the world, such as Loesche and IKN from Germany or Japanese advanced production. Besides, the investor chose equipment made by ABB Switzerland to install in central control room (CCR). The operation of all equipment in the plant’s production line is monitored and controlled at the central control room, through measuring devices. The batch control system is controlled online from QC laboratory by X – Ray system, which is the new, the most advanced and modern system of Themor Switzerland. CCR operates every process in production, from input materials to output to meet customers’ requirements. The products of Long Son Cement Plant are precisely controlled by information technology and are tested before leaving the plant to provide customers with the best quality products … Information technology is applied in sales service. If having the buying demand, customers do not have to go to the plant but can buy online. The company and agents level 1 will receive and process order information to deliver goods to customers as soon as possible. Moreover, customers directly give their suggestions via the Internet for the enterprise to improve the products, including packaging designs. Improving product features and decreasing production costs are also considered to help many customer access to products. The company also received many positive feedbacks from customers which show their trust to Long Son cement products. From the beginning of the year to June 15th, 2020, Long Son Cement Factory produced 2.43 million tons of clinker, consumed 3,124 million tons of cement (93% for domestic consumption, 7% for export).

To sustain the high-quality product and correct utilization of modern equipment, the Management of Long Son Cement creates controls to constantly check and monitor strict compliance to the system. This system assures that machine runs stably and quality is in constant controls and high quality according to standards. In particular, the plant strictly controls the quality of input materials, output products according to Vietnamese standards and international standards; at the same time, report the quality by the hour, research to improve quality to meet the increasing needs of customers. In addition to domestic consumption, Long Son cement products have been exported to China, Russia, and some countries in Africa, America, Europe … The fact shows that domestic and foreign customers always trust and appreciate the quality.

Long Son Cement Plant continues to maintain and operate stably production lines; At the same time, constantly improving product quality to better meet the needs of domestic and foreign customers, implement effectively the quality system control of input materials and output products conform to Vietnamese standards and international standards. Along with pushing up production of line 1, line 2 and product consumption, Long Son Cement Company is focusing on speeding up the construction of Line 3, so that it may soon come into operation to supply cement products to meet the increasing demands of domestic and foreign customers. Line 3 started in October 2019 and strives to complete and to be operational by December 2020. Mr. Truong Van Loi, Production Manager and Head of Line 3 Project Management Unit said that Long Son Cement Company selected advanced and modern line 3 construction technology. most in the world today, such as cement mill, clinker cooling system, material feeding system, weight feeder system … of famous brands from Germany; measurement system, automatic control system, sample control system … from Switzerland; dust collection system by Vietnamese standards and exhaust treatment system to avoid environmental impacts …

In parallel with investing in the construction of cement production lines, the investor has applied heat and exhaust recovery technology to protect the environment and generate electricity for production, each year saving about VND 170 billion. By June 15th, line 3 construction progress has reached 90% completion; the proportion of imported equipment has been about 70%. Currently, the construction units are mobilizing manpower, facilities, equipment to work overtime to speed up the construction progress. As stated by Mr. Truong Van Loi, the biggest difficulty inline 3 construction of Long Son Cement Plant is the impact of COVID-19. Because of a pandemic, international experts have not been able to come to Vietnam to join in equipment installing the line so it is most likely that construction progress will be behind schedule for about one month.
